Easter has come and gone, but it’s quite possible that you don’t have to stop Having fun with hard-boiled eggs. My wife Jessica picked up several Easter egg coloring kits for our three children and one really awesome one that stuck out, and is relevant to The Great Galactic Space Gimmick, is the egg decorating kit that you see in the picture below!
Galaxy Egg Decorating Kit looked like an exceptionally fun take on doing Easter eggs. Our son, known as Agent Fox in the Earthnaut segment of this blog ?, joined me in decorating some hard-boiled eggs with this particular coloring kit!
Of course, you could hard boil eggs in a pot of boiling water for about 8 to 10 minutes. In our case, we used Jessica’s InstaPot. We then put the eggs in and filled up just enough water to cover the eggs and cook them for about 8 to 10 minutes.
Afterwards, we took the eggs out and let them cool for a little while. Then we painted the eggs according to the instructions. Two bags were provided, and we added two or three drops of blue paint to each egg and smeared them around in one of the bags. Then we did the same thing for the purple color to fill in the white areas to give the eggs more of a swirly purple and blue nebula look as a background.
Agent Fox then cut out the small keg stands for each of the eggs and allowed them to dry for a while.
In our case, we let the eggs dry for a few hours and then let them dry the rest of the way overnight in the refrigerator. The final step for the eggs was to take some “rub on” decals and apply them to the eggs. Using special rubbing sticks that came with the kit, we transfered the decals from the sheet over to the eggs. This included a couple galaxies and gold colored nebulas along with the star fields. The end rresult was some verycolorful, starting Easter eggs!
This kit is available either in the clearance section of the Easter aisles at your store, given the Easter has already come and gone, or you could look them up you’re around on shopping sites such as Amazon shown here. Do not believe the little star rating that you see in this Amazon posting. My son and I found this kit to be extremely fun given the unique name of the Easter egg kit.
With some of the elements of this kit, it might be very possible to do your own outer space themed Easter eggs. Just a little creativity, a little skill with painting and an imaginative mind can help you have a lot of fun with your children and finding yet another way to inspire the love of space, even with the holiday of Easter!
