It’s another group of entries into the growing Space Gimmick Library. This time, I’ve completed two books. The first is Space 2.0 by Rod Pyle.
Space 2.0 is a modern entry into the latest group of books covering the growth of the Space Industry. Per author Rod Pyle (and personal experience), involvement in the Space Program was limited in the 1990s and before to working either for NASA or the academic world. But in just the past decade, the birth of private space companies has expanded professional opportunities for scientists and engineers that hope to contribute to the Space Program. Companies such as Northrop Grumman, United Launch Alliance, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic, and SpaceX have provided sufficient avenues for those with a passion for Space to contribute their talents. Also, Earth governments have increased their involvement in Space-based endeavors due to the successes of the aforementioned Space companies that have taken the burden of development funding and provided cost and engineering effective answers. From rocket launch vehicles, manned spacecraft, and even lunar landers, these companies are making the pursuit of manned Space exploration a commonplace endeavor. Space 2.0 also goes on to explain that it is the development of Space-borne infrastructure that will provide the economy needed to sustain a manned presence in Space for industrial, defense, and exploration purposes. I highly recommend this book as a good overview of the current efforts to take Man to the Stars.
I found both books to be great entries to the growing Gimmick Library. These can be purchased at amazon.com or on Audible or Scribd. For The Great Galactic Space Gimmick, I’m Gimmick Commander Ben Faltinowski. π βοΈ
