The Great Galactic Space Gimmick!
What is that? Basically, . . . it’s a Blog. A Space Blog. A Science Blog. A Rocket Blog. A Spaceship Blog. A Science-Fiction Lover’s Blog. An Engineer’s Blog. An Exploration Blog. And it’s . . . well you’re getting the idea. The general idea is to blog about all things that are scientific and space-themed . . . fictional and real, and also celebrate how the everyday, real-life world honors the space-themed science universe. You will get the jest when you explore each of the Blog’s Categories listed on the blog page’s side column. These Categories are basically columns with a growing list of articles surrounding their named themes.
To really understand the heart of The Great Galactic Space Gimmick, lets start at the beginning . . . with knowing more about the blog’s founder.
It’s me, Ben Faltinowski. Electrical Engineer. Rocket Engineer. Aircraft Engineer. Engineering Consultant. Freelance Writer. Photographer. Graphic Arts. Certified STEM Resume Writer. STEM Career Transition Coach. Mentor. Musician. Biker. Jogger. Yoga enthusiast. Motivational Speaker & Writer.
I got this SR-71 Blackbird model for Christmas when I was 8 years old, but was hooked on Aerospace and the Space Program even before this after seeing Space Shuttle Columbia launch in early 1981.
This is me in 2008 standing next to an SLS and Ares-I model at the Clark Planetarium, but I’m thinner now since taking up biking, running, and yoga!
Also for nearly 2 years, I ran a Resume Writing Company called Rocky Mountain Resumes LLC, which is closed now but I helped over 300 clients with their job-finding needs, including working with many STEM discipline professionals such as myself.
As I worked on this, I realized that my greatest and best destiny was to work in the Space Program, and even to get further education than before. I looked at various degree options and finally got underway with a really good one from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.
As of 2018, I’m now pursuing my Masters of Systems Engineering to compliment my 20+ years of Electrical Engineering work that has been mostly in the Space Program by now.
In line with this, my heart is to also encourage others to find their own Niche career, nurture others’ need to feel useful, and pursue their vocational goals. Greatest of these is to help interns, young upstarts, and mid-level career Engineers / Scientists / Tech-Workers / Military-Vets find their own Niche Career in the Space Program.
